I am wondering if anyone else has seen this.... It has only occurred since the maintenance effort a few days ago.... I will be on my browser and, all of a sudden, the screen goes "modal" (meaning the bacground dims/darkens) and a message box pops up that says ERROR No permission for the selected act...

I'm NOT trying to step on toes, I really don't know....

Have you put a Pl-259 on before ? It really isn't that hard and only requires a soldering iron, some cutters and a sharp utility knife or I use a single edge razor blade....

I've always heard that if you cut it.... it is better to put ends on and use a wall plate/barrel connector on each side... I don't think you can just twist it and tape it. The reflections in the cable would likely give you trouble.... You could always cut one end off, fish it through, and put a PL-2...

I don't know if you did the cap change or had it done.... but I'll say this... I hope that nothing upstream of the audio chip (RF strip, demod) has one of the new electrolytics in backwards. Sometimes, if the voltage is not too extreme, I think they will behave for a while... before they give up the...

You certainly added some value with yours. I had not even thought of the effect of the gaps between some channels.... Good answer Bobcat. Another thing was the original 23 channel radios had skipped frequencies used for radio control devices, they were the "A" channels, SSB'ers adopted channel 16LSB...
