Here's a good one for ya all

My Galaxy DX959 works great after some mods, and a new power mic((DM100-Tornado). But for some reason on ch23, should be 27.245, mine is 27.255. Why is this?

Just picked up a Cobra HG M75 power mic. Seems to be a little weak on modulation, but luckily there is a simple upgrade for it. As soon as i get it done, i will let you all know.

The simplest way to see how much amperage a radio needs is to pop the fuse and check it's size. That laptop PS might be fine but it won't let the radio perform at its full potential since the adjustments were made at 13.8v and even rated at 3 amps I doubt it really can do that. An easy why to check...

A 3w DK swinging to 6w's is about normal...If the radio had been modified in anyway (peaked and tuned) then it may swing up in the 20w range... As for SSB...you won't have a DK...No DK on SSB just keying the Mic...also normal. Your power supply also should be fine... Thank you.Understand everything...

I run a dipole in the attic area of my garage. The attic area is 10' tall. Keep in mind the dipole cut for 11 meters will be 17.12598' long. I run in an inverted v also. Being I have only 9-10 ft up there. I guess that won't work. Was thinking of something like this. And that's only if my HOA makes...

Having to deal with a HOA, that is probably your best bet. I've always heard that if you cut it.... it is better to put ends on and use a wall plate/barrel connector on each side... I don't think you can just twist it and tape it. Try to get the lowest SWR on channel 19/20 then balance out the SWR on channel 1 and 40. Looking at the pics you might want to be a little farther away from the antenna. Kudos on the setup. Going to plan B. Just to try it out, For fun and games. I have to fix my coax first. Then I'm going to try putting my Pat-12 standing straight up in the living room. But once spring comes.
