That is a bit much for the KL203, should be about 20-25 watts max DK with amp on. You could try a cap and resistor like MD has stated. Those amps like a DK of about .5 watts and less than 4 watts swing. Even on SSB they only need about 2 watts to be clean. Definitely keep the swing down, and try to...

yeah Greg, the deadkey out of the amp is around 40 rms, i ended up getting the 636l mic and i will probably end up adding an echo board so everything should be good to go when all is said and done. this trc-447 has the best noaa receive out of any radio ive had.

picked up a galaxy 959..manufactured in 06, has original 1969 final ' i dont know what they use now ' came with a ranger sra-198 mic..it has channel switches on the bottom and an npc mod which i installed both of those years back on this radio..it was my friends and i bought it from him this morning...

Like the way you did your antenna mount...clean. thank you sir... ive never had an antenna mounted that far back on the vehicle, i usually have it center on the roof...i have welded an " L " bracket on the roof that i would run a ground strap to from a mirror mount which was clamped to the luggage ...

use an external meter to check your swr.if the swr is low then u can adjust that warning light from inside the radio, ive had a couple cobra 29's where the light would come on, no big deal really...key low into the amp
