What causes frequency bleed over

Post by Mtn Lynx » Wednesday, 15 March 2017, 18:50 PM

Reading about frequency bleed over. What would make a radio bleed from 27.025 to 21.965. Reading about one dude that had a radio which did that and got in trouble.

That and probably lived in close proximity.

Was this the CB'er bleeding on a Fire Department band up in Alaska?

Heck, just pick one...If it cost under $1K, it's probably a dirty C Class.

Bigger problem than Amp's, is radios that have been Peaked & Tweaked with coils inside spread as far apart as you can get them without popping off the board...Take that radio and stick a Amp behind it, and you can talk on all 40 channels at the same time!

Google pictures of amplifiers and look at the difference between amateur amps and amps built for CB.

Class of operation has nothing to do with this. A class ab amp can break into oscillation and trash the band too. If the amp isn't oscillating I'd test the transmitter next. It's likely an export, had some crazy channel mods done or just a good overall hack job.
