if the radio is working as it should that means it is working. if the radio is losing power no it is not. I personally do not like a power supply that is just enough to power a radio. it puts a lot of stress on the power supply and it will quit faster than one that is not pushed to its limit. I run a 14 amp power supply with my radios. this way it is not pushed to its limits. just run the one you have and if it goes out just get a larger one when and if it goes out.

Got any recommendation? I live in Canada.

A simple way to know if the power supply is big enough is while talking and the lights dim, it's too small. Pop the fuse and see the amperage and I usually double that, then it's big enough for the radio.

The specs on the radio show
Current Drain
TX: AM Full Modulation: 2.1A (max)
RX: At no signal: 400mA
--
Specs on the PS shows 3A continuus, 4A surge.

I wouldn't try to run anything additional off the PS however.

What do you mean ? On all my radios my lights do not dim when i key up so im assuming your alright If your light dims that usualy means you are drawing more power than the supply is putting out

Like sonoma said run it till it quits. I have a megawatt 400-12. 36 amp version hooked to a cobra29 with a 100w amp. power supply is set at 13.82 (just because it's touchy) when keyed up and talking only drops to 13.79. Hope this helps and have fun. D-minus

if your lights dim when you key up The power supplied to the radio is not enough. One test test to key up and then check the voltage on the power supply,

I do believe I stated that in an earlier post. I think the 787 didn't dim because it uses LED's for illumination where the 68 still has the old wheat incandescent bulbs. I would check the voltage like was said, you will probably see it dipping to 12v when saying "aahhh" in the mic. If it is the Pyramid PS you said earlier it probably not big enough for sure.
