Biggest difference between those two, is the M103 can only be set up for Horizontal polarization, or Vertical, but not both...

The Y-Quad go's both ways...You would have two coax cables running to this antenna and back to your station where you would need a switch, so you can go from Vertical to Horizontal without having to disconnect the coax from the back of the radio each time.
