Modulation kit and amps

I've got an old realistic 432 Navaho dead keying 3.5 watts and swinging 5.5 watts. With amp on and driver tuned down from 200 to 100 watts dead key, it swings 500 watts. Was wondering if a modulation kit would help or hurt if dead key could be adjusted to say 2 watts and swing increased to more then 5.5 ( when barefoot) as it does now. Would the extra swing drive the amp any stronger without harming anything ? Thanks
