Welcome to the forum. You are in a predicament like many others, manuals or even operating instructions for old amps like those are few and far between. You can look at "CB Tricks", they list the 250 which isn't much different from the 500 which only has more tubes. As far as operating, any of he tube amp manuals will give you an idea as to how to tune it properly.Sorry that I couldn't help more.
