Mounting a radio in a Kia Sorento
I'm curious if anyone has ever mounted a radio in a Kia Sorento. The wife's primary vehicle is a 2012 Kia Sorento, and she's expressed interest in wanting to put a radio in her vehicle. However, for the life of me, I cannot wrap my head around any possible way to mount one in there and it look halfway decent and not be a damn knee beater.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'd really love to hear from someone if they have mounted one in this type vehicle!
Here's some photos to give you an idea of what the inside of these look like:

This is what I used in passenger side floor board with quick connects for removal.

Something is wrong with the photo uploader. Trying like heck to get my pics on here. It may take some searching but I've posted my station pics on here before. I have a board under my floor mat with the rack mounted on it. The mat hides the board. Then I have quick connects on all my power. It can be removed in seconds from the car.

Okay, the photo is showing up now. I think I'd have to get it up higher than that though. Maybe something like a tall flexible pedestal mount? Maybe something that would attach to the seat bolt at the floor? The mount you posted, I'm not sure how I could make that work, other than just putting them in the passenger floorboard? lol

Somewhere like Galls or a public safety store might have the type of mount you may be looking for. The one I have is gamber johnson and they do have other types and models. They have a kit for mine (212 model) that would make it a three tier and about a foot taller.

I Found a couple of taller racks searching for radio racks.

Re: Mounting a radio in a Kia Sorento
Is she wanting it just for normal CB use or is she into SSB ? If just normal CB use try a Cobra 75 WX ST or a Stryker SR-89mc. Both can be mounted under the seat and the hand mike controls all the features. Just some food for thought.
Radio : Galaxy DX99V / Mic : Converted Military M-80C/U / Ext Speaker : Converted Military LS-454/U / Off Road Antenna : K40 4' Super Flex / On Road Antenna : 102" Whip w/G.P. 6" Riser

Re: Mounting a radio in a Kia Sorento
That's a thought. But since my rig does SSB, I think she wants to be able to reach out to me with SSB if needed.
