Mic recommendation for Stryker 955

Hey guys, a few years ago we went through a box of mics to find the best sounding one for my Stryker 955. It ended up being the vintage Cobra coffin mic. Well, the PTT pusher broke off after a year and a half and I put the factory Stryker mic back on the radio and everyone is telling me I sound terrible. Do ya'll have any recommendations as to which mic would work best on this radio? My chances of finding a vintage Cobra mic would be slim. Thank you for any help you could provide. Kevin.

I am surprised the stock mic doesn't do well on the radio, it possibly has a defect. I know a Cobra coffin mic can be found on that auction site or try to post for one in the "Wanted" section here; http://www.cbradiotalk.com/viewforum.php?f=59 .
