Getting the ball rolling

Well it's been 2 months since moving and I have been having fun dx'ing in the mobile but it can be tough competing with bases so I threw up an antron, you can't see in the pic but it is just leaned against the house with the bottom of mast in a cinder block. I took the fan out of palomar because it was loose so hence the box fan and the poor meter has been dropped on it's head too many times. Still gets out fine though...lol

You may soon be fixin' radios as an electronics technician.

That is maximizing the USEFUL life of a radio.

The Antron will certainly do better than the vertical antenna.

You may want to read up on a DIPOLE buy typing it into google and put up additionally a horizontal dipole for the DX.

I see some trees that you may be able to do it.

Oops, Sorry I meant to say the Antron would work better than your mobile antenna.

I'm not sure the Antron is better than a 102 on the mirror of a log truck...lol. I have a Maco V5/8 and M-103 to go up when I get towers situated.

There was a guy, CB shop owner with a Wilson Laser 500 on a tower on the shop that ran a 5/8 wave Ringo on the side of his tractor trailer. No Joking because he married my Aunt. Must have been nuts but probably worked well for mobile.

This was many years ago and most likely would not be tolerated now.

Your antenna there looks quite awesome.
