i think they are a pretty good. i have a few. as for mag mount,,, should be fine. gonna need a big magnet thou.
if this something you are building out of stuff you have laying around then yes by all means , go for it. on the other hand, a mag-mount wilson will do better.

It depends on the length. As with most antennas the longer Firestick will perform better than the shorter ones. A 7 footer on a proper antenna mount will work very well. I personally prefer a skipshooter antenna.

It mainly comes down to length and where you are mounting it. If your putting it on the roof with a mag mount the use the longest antenna of any brand you want. Just make sure the mag mount is strong enough to hold it.

When you start mounting antennas in bad locations like behind the cab of a truck or on the bumper some will work and tune better in those situations.

IMHO 543ftWorth is right, height is might. I personally like mounting antennas on the center roof, but it depends on your situation. I have a Sirio 5000 magnet mount and love it, especially the stainless steel whip, very impact friendly and the recv and transmit is fantastic. Wilson is also another good brand, can't go wrong with the 1000 or 5000 depending on how much power you want to put through it.

I always recommend an antenna over 4ft in length, if you have to go shorter I would say your best bet would be a Everhardt SOTT or Everhardt Super Tiger, they come in a 3ft model, and even then get them as high on the vehicle as possible. I tend to shy away from FireStik's because of some bad experiences with them but that is JMO. I like to permanent mount the antennas too, magnet mounts will always have a problem with coax in the future. If the choice is a magnet mount I would go for the Sirio performer 5000 and a Sirio magnet mount.

If you're bleeding over 10 channels have that radio repaired or destroyed.

It would have to be hooked up to a scope and checked out.... When guys peak and tweak these things out to try and get every last drop of watts out, this is what happens when paired up with a Amp... also called a trashy signal

Could also be if you were within 100' of the guy you would bleed over a few channels running a Amp, but 10 channels is allot for that size box your running.

It's hard to tell by the pictures but the work is sloppy. Things line the knob on the back and the big honking electrolytic capacitors, one of them leaning over into the rf output section makes me really doubt the ability of the person that did it.

Those shooting star, palomar, galaxy knock off amps aren't the cleanest transmitting things either. Not trying to be rude just honest.

For a fiberglass ant I prefer the francis over the fire stick.
