Looking at A Sommerkamp and a Ham International Radio out of Europe. They run on 220.. thats not a problem got 220 right here but they run 50hz where we run 60 hz. Think thats an issue? Never have run onto it before nor ever even considered it.

I'd look for a schematic on the radio, I'm pretty sure the transformer in them has a tap for 60hz as well, you would need to change the plug and cord out anyway. You can probably find a schematic on the radio manufacturer website.

the Sommercamp can run on DC so its the power supply only. Dont know if the cycle dif were make any difference in operation. Also it runs on 220 vac we dont have 220 its more like 234 vac. Blue Okies just figured out radio will run on 50 or 60 HZ and a 35 dollar converter problem solved.

234 AC is no problem for the radio ,we have here 240V now in the Netherlands and there are still guys using the old rigs here !

the uk have 240volt ac whereas europe has 220 volt ac , there isnt a problem either will do. also the you radios wish to run are themselves being run from an internal or external regulated PSU, whose function is to run the radio on smooth and quiet DC,,The small difference in cycles and voltage make no difference to these supplies ..

Well folks wound up with the Sommerkamp. Is a super nice radio, really happy about that. The back of the radio says 50 or 60 cycles so thats easy. Found a up and down converter on the smiley box site. The big one was about a 80 bucks. Plugged it in the wall. Radio in the box, zoom on the air. No plug changing no mods no worries. Just talkin on a cool radio. Will get some pictures up when I can. Thanks All. Laters,,,Blue

Was that the radio you had on the TWRC video chat a couple days ago,, I thought it was a RS,, cool,, now how do you get rid of the foreign accents.
