98VHP no am transmit

I am working on a98vhp it does not have am tx but the ssb works, checked the voltages on Q54 on ssb they where B=13.45 C=12,35 E=13,25 then when I switch to am I lose the voltage on the collector what am I missing any help thank you

change it out and see what it does. looks like it is failing on AM

if you put a good one in and no voltage now I am at a loss on this one.

are you checking the voltage in TX mode on AM. it should have about 6.5 volts on TX in AM mode

Yes I am checking on am in transmit mode there is o volts I switch it to ssb I have 10.30 vlolts

you need the 6.5 volts in TX mode for AM to function. so you have a problem there. I would verify the trans is good.

I took one out of a working connex 3300hp and still the same I checked the voltage on am tx it is 0.02 volts and I noticed on ssb that I get a dead key of 55 watts

there is 3 main trans right there in the circuit. check all 3 parts and the diodes etc right in that area here is a link to the pic of the board. I will also post a voltage chart here for you to check voltages with.
