my robyn 520d sounds great on am using a d-104..but sideband is bad. just a hair open on.the d-104 and i am heard but very low..so i tryed a stock mic..still the same..the reports given to me said it sounds like i am overdriving the radio like a garbel buz....but i have no amp....am watts out 5.. ssb watts out 11...but like i said am the audio realy barks nice and clean..any thoughts on this...thanks

Sounds as if something in the SSB side of the radio is either out of tune or maybe failing. If you have a good tech around your way may want to drop it off and let them check it.

It's probably about time for the radio to get a recapping done, it always starts with the SSB warbling etc, you don't hear it as much on AM because of the carrier. Caps and a good alignment and it will be back up to snuff.
