How does a massive 3/8 mount for a Predator 10k look and where can i get one?

I have this one,

but I need a mount where the antenne will press against the whole mount.

Ok, what is a "Lug Mount" and how are they used?
I cant see a cap or some other shielding for the part inside the car.

If i simply strip the koax an put the inner conductor on the mount there will happen funny things with my board electronics.

For those heavy weight antennas you need to be looking at "puck" mounts, they are designed to handle the load and support the sheet metal from bending.

For my 17" shaft Predator wants a

H/D stabilizer stud with terminals. Designed for Predator and similar large coil type antennas. Recommended for 17 inch and longer shaft antennas. Requires terminal type coax cable.

But I dont know what a terminal type coax is. What i can guess from the pics is that it must be some sort of cable lug - but there my misgiving beginns: Where is the shielding?!

I think the Model #076 from breedlovemounts might be all i need (its 1 inch in diameter where the Antenne is about 0,9inch) but shipping is $45 where the Puck costs $40...

The center conductor goes to the stud bolt, shield to a close ground bolt but you knew that.

Shockingly, its what i was expecting but now im sure that this is really not a 50Ω connection.

I was trying somewhat similar times ago, sticking the center with a 4mm Jack to a pipe type connector and bonded the twistet shield to the threading.

I had to borrow a Computer, the Adapter and the right Software to flash my car electronics... I will never do any unshielded connection anymore.


Now i know enough about the diferent mounts, only my wallet is against the only right way...

A good mount won't be cheap. Check out where JJD is telling you. He knows those a lot about those antennas. A good plate on the underside of the vehicle also will help with support. You gotta pay to play lol. It's not a cheap hobby if you want to do it right. Don't skimp out on antenna system. That is for sure!!

After i have talked to someone who has imported genuine Predator mounts in the past just to dump them i will get a breedlove.
