Palstar pm2000-am

Post by the_junkie » Monday, 09 February 2009, 23:11 PM

I received this meter a couple days ago in the mail. Hooked itup and love it. Going to see how close it is to a bird meter in the next day or 2. Showing me atabout 275 pep and about 1 watt of reflect.

I love the peak hold setting, it really helps when you want to see your peak, as it holds it for about 5 seconds.

It has an illuminated backlight, great for night use, as you can glance over and make sure that everything is working well.

Probably the best part of this meter is that it has a line-section like part that keeps you from having to run any additional lengths of coax from the box to the front, and the antenna to the front, which equals less clutter.

It comes with an ac plug, however, which makes no sense to me. I made a cord with a cig plug i had laying around, and it wasn't working to well, so I went to radioshack and got a "M" plug cigarrete adapter until I connect it straight to the power source when I re-do my setup.

I will try to get pics once I have cleaned my truck, and get the wires coming from the line section run properly. Great meter, it was 172.12 shipped, with a 2000 and 300 watt setting, along with reading peak and rms.

here is the deal. Palstar's online ordering company is having issues. As in, the people who take the orders, and give the money to palstar, are giving them the money, but not telling them what it's for, etc. I would call them, and they should get you set up real quick. The number is on your site, i believe you will talk to amber at the front desk or mary in shipping.
