Successfully completed channel mod!

Post by Aughtry »

I successfully completed a channel mod on my Galaxy DX959 today! Now to find folks to chat with on the extra channels

I used a scrap piece of CAT5 wire, some heat shrink, a couple SPST switches from radio shack, and a peppermint tin.

Looks good, super easy mod on those radios. I usually put the switches in the back or on the speaker side cover and a micro 4 pin connector so the cover can be removed.

Now that made me look it up! Looks simple enough...remove R113 and D68, and solder a wire. May have to play this afternoon while the cloudy weather is killing DX. Can't even hear 6L

You will be about to get about 1.5kc on the stock clarifier, it will help those cold weather frequency drifts. The 10kc mod will let you pick up the skipped frequencies, not that hard to do either.
