Is there such a critter worth the money ?
I was told there was a way to rig my Wilson* mirror mount phone antenna to function with my laptop
for better signal ??
I have an Inspiron 1720 with internal wireless ATT card.

TIA

It might, but I doubt it. The frequencies used for wifi are way up in the UHF spectrum. You'd be better off building/buying and attaching a small beam or external rubber ducky designed for wifi. THAT might be worth it. Most of the "rubber ducky" antennas for the wifi have about a 5-7 dbi gain (or so) as it is. The yagi beams can have up to about 15dbi, but you need to point the beam in the direction of the signal.

Do a google search on "wifi antennas" and you'll have probably more reading than you'll want.

Hope that helps a little.

yup HI TECH will link you to a company that has all sorts of wifi junk. I had the same issue and he turned me on to an antenna and usb adapter. It was pretty cheap actually.

We all have our favorites. I like to think one of the best out there is Orinoco Wirelesscards.
