Re: Your Local Channel?
In my little area of Southeastern Illinois, close to the Indiana border, channel 8 is our local channel in the evenings. A little north and east of me there is a group that runs channel 12 that I talk to off and on. There are some groups in my area on channels 36 and 40 I guess in the mornings. I never talk to them but a few of them pop in to talk to us at night. A couple talk on channel 19 with the truckers after channel 8 dies for the night up until weee hours of the morning.
The Evansville Indiana area seems to run 33. On 44 LSB there is a group in Kentucky with a few in Illinois that talk almost nightly.
That's all that I can remember at the moment. I know there is a Mt. Vernon Illinois group as well but I can't remember their channel at the moment. There really are a lot of stations in my three state region.

I just moved to Laramie, WY and havn't had a chance to find my local station yet. I like to listen to the chatter on 19 though. I live just down the road from a couple of truck stops.

Re: Your Local Channel?
Here in Topeka, Ks. there is not many locals anymore, since they took out the truckstop. I can count on one hand the cbers around here.
We hangout on channel 36am in the morning hours, then the others go off an I move to 38lsb and anywhere else I can find someone to holler at shootin skip.

Re: Your Local Channel?
here in sumter sc, there arent many cbers anymore. you can catch the truckers on 19, and occasionally tell them where places are, because this is an industrial town. at the shop, we stick on 12, and theres almost always a couple people we talk to out there during the day. just an old retired guy with a base station and anybody needing a check that knows this shop exists. usually stay on 12 in the mobile too.

Re: Your Local Channel?
Here around Stoughton, Wi there really isn't a home Channel though Stoughton Trailers uses 23 for their truck fleet or any trucks that do come in. They hate it when other people are on it apparently. From what I hear they act like they own that channel. But in any case if I'm not on 19 me and the wife use channels 1 or 3 when we want to communicate away from other traffic.
