Once my antenna arrives and I get it tuned I'll be back waivin' atcha as Aughtry 7 double-deuce in prison town, TX (huntsville). The 722 is simply the last 3 digits of my ID at work. Aughtry comes from being given my first radio and thinking I Aughta give it a try, and got hooked.

I learned through the DX Directory, I think it was,

K is country code for United States
followed by state, PA
followed by last three numbers of your original
assigned, lieciened callsign, 223

DX Callsign= KPA223
ego - "223 in da keystone State back at'cha".

In the early to mid 90's I shot skip all day on an old 1970 something mobile and a silver streak 150. Still have the silver streak but that radio got lost in a move.

When I called out I always said "973 Crazy Kid southern Cali puttin it up puttin it out and reading the mail"

Guess I will need to modify that since I live in Peoria, Az now.

Tango November Tango 1450 is what I went by years ago, though the TNT group is long gone now, most of them have died off, others gone who knows where. Back in the early 90's I sent off for an "official" SSB club number, was issued SSB-87G which I also used on occasion. I don't know where the certificate went, will have to see if I can dig it out out of my radio documents some time.

I've been "Thunderbird" on AM since 1994, and recently decided on "641 North(west) Georgia" when DXing. I recently set up my first SSB base station and had my first DX contacts tonight!
Thunderbird on AM
641 North Georgia on SSB

I'm LIVE from the green room in the front woods of Northwest Georgia!
