Dec. 29 skip

I heard the skip rolling in around noon today (CST) on 19 and 21. I was in southern Oklahoma and heard a lot of Mexicans. Then I heard a guy calling himself Brain Damage from "downtown El Paso". I was running barefoot so he never copied my shout out, but he was shouting back to people in California.

Maybe some day I'll get my number called.

Skip is rolling fairly strong here in northern Maine.

I got Salty Sam out of Northern Cali on 28 today; 19 was a train wreck here between the skip, the truckers and the locals... you couldn't hear anything. Heard a big base out on 38, but he couldn't hear me... The guy he was talking too could on and off, but I never was able to get him pinned down long enough to find out where he was calling from...

I might have spoke with you last night. I was talking to 476 "Taz" and one of his neighbors. They were coming in loud and clear, said they were from Gloucester. I spoke to a bunch of other guys from Maine, RI, NH, NY and Mass.

Yeah...I talked to Brain Damage on 19 too...Was sorta funny at the time, Only skip that was rolling, seamed to be on channel 19! Then went to channel 21 and talked to him a little more, right before those ladies down there in Mexico started warming up those Big Taco Radios!

Yep, it was Mexican ladies I kept hearing.

Yeah...I don't know what kinda watt's they run down there, but those gal's sure got a set of lungs!

I first thought Brain Damage was local by the way...seeing how there was no skip on any of the other channels, so I told him I was "Bowling Ball" out of Ft. Worth! Thinking he was local, but after deciding he was in El Paso, I made contact on 21, and got my name called right before Mexico took over. We just don't get allot of DX from other citys that are in the state! Maybe once a year that happens.

Brain Damage claimed to be talking to some people in California. I remember heard a few other people and him shouting back at some people, but I don't remember their names. I called out myself as Shaft 369 on I-35 at the red river, but never got my number called.

Yep...Thats another reason I thought he was local, and doing some "Ghost Talking"...I herd the same thing...And untill we went to 21, I would have swore he was local....

I caught a skip from EL Paso in the 70's when I was a kid. I talked to the guy like he was standing next to me. Some times you just get lucky. The one I'm most proud of happened earlier this year. I caught a skip from Moscow and I got a confirmation card to prove it!!

Moscow! I think I have talked skip just about everywhere on this side of the globe, but yet to even hear anything from across the Pond.

The Mexican super-power stations have occasionally been heard as far north as my QTH...I have heard El Conejo out there a few times and the mexican woman you keep hearing is La Bandita, heard on 33 AM. I have tried multiple times to work her but no dice....She's gotta be doing like over 3K...mad watts..

If Skip is rolling, I'm usually on either channel 28 or 26 (AM)...Sometimes I drop down to 26.915 too...
