If you find out...let me know! Because I can't find anything on these radios...

I did have a local Tech here in the Dallas area manage to get the DK down a bit, but I noticed it has a bit of a squeal to it when you hold the Mic Button down, after a while...(More of a "feed-back" type sound)
I'm fairly certain it's probably just something that needs fine-tuning, but I haven't been able to find anything on these radios...

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Cool...One problem I have noticed is the thing has absolutely no swing to speak of...DK's about 3w's, and on two different meters, it only swings to "Maybe" 5 or 6w's...
Would cutting D405 or D406 fix that?....By the way. You said 405 or 406..."which is it?" or is there only one or the other to chose from?

Heck...I may just send the thing to you then, and let ya go threw it, and get it so I can run it with my 2x6 Davemade...I really like the sound this thing has. The speaker sounds better than allot of external speakers, and the receive is not bad either. Just need to find someone that remembers how to work on these older radios...

haha i tuned up one of these tonight the am only version (same one JJD has)... the info given off tune sites is sumwut wrong.. there's two diodes, ones an led DO NOT CLIP THAT and go ahead and clip the other diode.. it brings it from a 3 swinging 4 to a 3 swinging 10 and help improve the audio quality allot ( only time ill cut a diode) there's an inducer in the back that is unlabeled closest to the side of the radio on the left in the back looking @ the component side. your able to adjust the DK there, but that's about it. if you play with the inducer next to it (looks the same not the darker one to the south of it) you should be able to get a cupple of watts more but there really nothing more you can do beside run a box with it.. where planning on changing the mic and wiring up a 4pin connector so the guy we hooked it up for can use a better micjessejamesdallas wrote:Heck...I may just send the thing to you then, and let ya go threw it, and get it so I can run it with my 2x6 Davemade...I really like the sound this thing has. Wish I knew you were tuning one up...I would have had ya take a picture of what you did, while you had the back off!HI-TECH wrote:haha i tuned up one of these tonight the am only version (same one JJD has)... the info given off tune sites is sumwut wrong.. there's two diodes, ones an led DO NOT CLIP THAT and go ahead and clip the other diode.. it brings it from a 3 swinging 4 to a 3 swinging 10 and help improve the audio quality allot ( only time ill cut a diode) there's an inducer in the back that is unlabeled closest to the side of the radio on the left in the back looking @ the component side. your able to adjust the DK there, but that's about it. if you play with the inducer next to it (looks the same not the darker one to the south of it) you should be able to get a cupple of watts more but there really nothing more you can do beside run a box with it.. where planning on changing the mic and wiring up a 4pin connector so the guy we hooked it up for can use a better micjessejamesdallas wrote:Heck...I may just send the thing to you then, and let ya go threw it, and get it so I can run it with my 2x6 Davemade...I really like the sound this thing has. OK...Got it. It was D406...Couldn't find D405, so I took a chance on the D406, and like HI-TECH said, I went from 3w's swinging to 4w's. to 3w's swinging to about 10w's!....Not quite the same as my Galaxy 93T, but running it with my 2x6 Davemade, I'm still getting close to the same swing out...close enough no one would be able to tell any difference anyway. Plus, my DK is now a 100w's louder!pro785 wrote:This is for the 934.38270700 model road talker 40

Anyone know how to open the Clarifer on a Roadtalker 40 Model Number 934.38260700
I recently picked up one of these radios, model 934.38081700. Opened it up and it looks like the diodes/pots and all are numbered differently than the slant face model so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I need to adjust to peak and tune this radio. I'm new to cb but not to working on electronics.

I found one just like that (934.38081700) in a scrap yard. It's not working, and I would like to fix it. Anyone have a schematic or tips for where to start? The power side is fine, it turns on and the channels light up. When I key the mic, the meter briefly swings, but the Tx and Mod lights don't come one. It doesn't receive.
