thrift store find

I went to the thrift store today and picked up a Cobra Dynascan 85. I paid a whopping $3.00 for it.

I tried to do some research on it , but with no luck. Does anyone know anything about it? The only info I saw was on cbtricks.com

Also, it did not come with a power cord, any idea on how I can get this guy fired up?

i hooked mine up, it seems to work alright. i dont have a base station here or anything, just threw up a dipole to test it, and it seemed to receive just fine.

i might get a power inverter and try it out in the truck, or string out a long extension cord to the truck, and try it on the mobile with the 102"

Mine does not work i don't think. When i Key it, it just ticks and will not transmit out. Do you think it is a Base?

No inverter needed, it can be powered by 12vdc directly. Take another look at the schematic on that other site. It shows both ways of connecting the power plug.

yes it is a base radio, from what i have read.
