bought a stinger board for my cobra 2000 gtl not sure on how to install this in my radio. didnt come with instructions. no one i know , knows how to put one in. need some help with this please and thank u. its the 200 watt stinger board.

All the boards install the same way.

1 Disconnect the wire from the SO-239 antenna jack.

2. Connect that wire to the RF input of the board.

3. Connect the RF output of the board to the SO-239 antenna jack.

4. Connect the board to the radios supply voltage.
Follow these directions it might not be the one for your board but it will give you a general idea on what to do.

I'm just curious, does that make it to where you use an external power supply, or is it designed to work with the stock one? It seems that it would need a lot more supply amperage even if it didn't have a big carrier.

It will absolutely require and external power supply for the board.

Don't burn that Cobra up! Hopefully just a fuse blows :|

Was reading yesterday on how hard it is to find the power supply parts for the 2000's.
