You need to check the heat sink compound on the mod, final, and driver transistors before you do anything to that radio. I just got one and there was heat sink compound on only ONE side of all 3 transistors. Do a google search on the radio and you'll see what I mean. After you fix that issue, the AM Mod control is half hidden right by that metal cover plate in the radio. It's going to be to the right side of the cover plate close to the rear of the radio as your looking from the front. Half of the VR is under the plate but you can still turn it. Also, all the VR's in the radio have glue on them so be careful when you first try to turn it. The AM power VR is also on the right side of the radio way back near the rear. The ALC VR (SSB power) is in the back of the radio. You'll see 3 VR's all right next to each other to the right of the BIAS control VR's. The sideband power VR is the last one to the right. The radio should do about 25 watts PEP after it's peaked out.
