#301653

Post by greesemonkey »

I have just acquired a Lafayette telsat ssb-75 from a friend and i need a couple of things for it. I would appreciate it if i can get the parts location diagram and also the mic diagram. The mic plug is damaged beyond repair and i need to replace it, but i have not found a even a picture of the side of the radio anywhere. i am currently trying to add be able to get the upper 40 channels with this radio, so i will need the parts location diagram so i know which crystals are which. i appreciated the help and thank you.

CB Tricks does not have any information on this one. May be a tuffy unless someone with a Sams edition that covers it shows up. I checked my index and I don't have that one.

This is the best I can do. Howard W. Sams CB Photofact for that radio is number 96. It will have everything you need.

For the extra channels you want you can either install a xtal switching circuit in X205, or you can substitute a new xtal in one or more of the mixing xtal slots. Each xtal
controls four channels.
RV3- RF METER
RV7- AMC
RV5- ALC
RV304- AM PWR

That should be enough info to get you started.....

The Telsat 75 is single conversion all that needs to be replaced is the 11.275mhz crystal which will give a new bank of 23 channels.

The 11.275mhz crystal will stand alone near the middle towards the back of the circuit board by a transistor the frequency should be marked on it either on the top or side.

Does it have a bad final? Or is it not going into xmit? It might not be hard to get it going.
Radio, still the most fun way to communicate!

I had a friend of mine look at it and we couldn't even get it to xmit anything. He said and i quote "trying to fix this radio is like gold plating a toilet". But no biggy, I traded another buddy of mine a general electric for a cobra 128gtl ssb so now i have all 40 channels. I am currently trying to get a cobra 146gtl to work. I am just going to use the Lafayette as parts and scrap it. thanks for the help.
