DX Clubs
Just wondering if anyone onhere belongs to any radio clubs at all? I belong to the MudDucks SSB club. It's a DX club that was started by 2 guys that are fairly local to me and there is about 500 members so far. Pretty cool to talk to fellow members when the conditions are good. We do a roll call every Monday 8pm est on 37usb if the dx is rolling. If anyone is interested in being a part of the group PM me for info or give a listen for fellow MudDuck stations on the waves. We cover most of the states and also one member in South Africa station 1422. I hope this is ok to post in here.

I have heard some of the members on the air. I am a member of Radio Canada although I don't use sideband all that often anymore. I am starting to think there is getting to be more competition on ssb than on am. And that is not good considering that ssb typically only uses 3 or 4 channels.

That's cool! How long ago did you belong to them? We are always looking for more people that like ourselves that enjoy talking dx! They are supposed to have a list of all members in what state they are in so you can hang it up and and mark off which members you have talked to. I got a certificate years ago for talking FM dx. Me and my neighbor were chatting one day above the citizen band on a FM channel and I heard another station in there and ended up chatting with the guy for a while and come to find out him and his wife ran a FM DX club. This was back in 1995 and I just recently found the certificate and hung it up in my radio room. I never talked to them or any other members after that but it was preety cool to talk dx on FM!

There are a number of SSB 11 meter DX clubs. Sugar Delta, Needle Bender, and Alpha Tango come to mind. Here is a link to a list of them. Well if it's allowed to be posted here and not blocked.

I was originally part of a group out of Fayettville NC called the "Sierra Radio Group", hence where I got my handle "SR118". More recently I was part of a group here in my home state of MA called the "Wolfpack". Unfortunalty, I haven't heard either group in several yrs.

spoke with mud duck 424 a while back and haven't had any skip going in that direction since
I belong to an old ssb club which I can't find any reference for anymore. WDX 617 was my assigned number when I joined that one and is what I use when on the air.

Radio, still the most fun way to communicate!
