DX 98VHP expanded?
On the Galaxy DX 98VHP, what factory switch would a shop use to make the radio go from 10,11 and 12 meters?
On my Cobra 148F GTL DX+ they used a factory hi/lo switch on the front of the radio. I don't even remember what the use of that switch was for, I think maybe hi/low tone but wonder what switch they would use on the 98?

Actually I should ask, will the 98 even do 12 meters?

Never mind Think I found the answer. "E" would be the 11 meter band and F,G and H are uppers and A,B,C and D are lowers, or just the opposite.
The Galaxy 98 is the only radio I have found that has the most bells and whistles. Only things I would have added if I was in charge of designing it, is add FM a 6 digit freq counter and a modulation scale like some of their other meters have on their cheaper cb radios. As loud as Galaxy's are I suppose it's not that important to have the mod scale anyway.

I don't miss FM or the 6th digit. Now that I talk sideband more sometimes I think the 6th meter readout might be cool but usually I don't even look at the meter lights when I'm trying to fine tune. Its a great radio if you talk AM 11 meter everyday and talk a little sideband. If you talk a lot of sideband you might look at the RCIs or even amateur ham rigs.Heck I don't have time to mess with anymore bells and whistles.chad68 wrote:Never mind Think I found the answer. It has a red modulation light that comes on when your modulating around 100% heck mines always on when I'm talking.
