I have a RF limited TRB-X2 echo board i am putting into my 959, it came with directions but i'm not getting the wiring of the PTT, there are two wires RED/BLACK that say hook to the PTT pin on the mic jack. It does not tell you what wire to put where to complete the circuit

And i got it. I was using the wires coming from the mic PCB so i rewired it back to stock and removed the mic PCB cut the audio trace and installed the wires there and she works fine now, I would recommend this echo board to any one, it sounds good and is very small so it fits very easy

Yes the control pot controls the Level and delay, and there is 2 adjustable pots inside, one is a gain and i think the other one is a trimmer? The board itself is very small, like 1in by 1 1/2in and come with mounting hardware, you can find them for $19.99, i got mine from a member here $25 shipped

Yeah, and a little secret a tech told me, only follow the directions for the audio wire and PTT wire, don't put the ground where they say and throw away the ground wire that is right next to the power wire on the echo board, only use the other grounds, less noise and feedback, with better sound

Sure give me a day or two, I am still doing some other mods to the radio, i put some new receive Schottky diodes and new noise blanker Schottky diodes, witch both worked awesome, but i put in a a new transistor to control the voltage on the board, and its not working to well, it gets very very hot very fast, so i am trying to see if i missed something before i put the stock transistor back in it. But i will for sure post it here or email the pics to ya

Why spend the money on an echo board? I use a cheap $19 DM-452 echo mic. Works great on my 949. I won't have a SINGLE thing added or removed from my 949... except a switch for the channel mod, when I get around to doing it. Not doing 2 switches... don't need lowers.

The echo boards only cost 19.99 and they have better sounding echo, and i like my noise canceling mic. my galaxy is plenty loud enough with out a power mic

I have two 959's and I have had them both ways, echo mic and now with an echo board installed. They worked great either way, but I too like using my RK56 in my mobile. I have two echo mics, one a Cobra CA-79, and an Aries DM-452. I can't really recomend the Cobra one, it does the job, but doesn't sound nowhere near as good as the DM-452. As far as the internal echo board, it has more range of sound effects than the DM-452, but they are equal in sound quality in my opinion. I haven't had a chance to try out one of the 2018 extreme mics by RF Limited but I would like to, it has a noise canceling feature that I here works very well and unlike my Dm-452, the adjustments can all be accessed without having to take the back off of the mic.
Galaxy 959 mobile 1969 final, with extra channels
Cobra 142 base, with extra channels
Galaxy 959 mosfet final
Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
