EKL RFX-75 What do you think
I have been reading a lot about this, and it is getting great reviews. I have also watched a few youtube videos on the performance. Does anyone have one installed on here if so how do you like it and the performance.

If you get a chance check this out, explains what it is a little more is about 10 mins but the end result is great. I just wonder how it would hold up under heating and long term talking conditions.

Yep i have one installed on a Galaxy DX959 it does a good job getting around 70 to 80 watts PEP. I will say however it dose get very hot with long use and a small fan keeping it cool is a must. One other thing is i wouldn't tare apart a working radio just to add this unit there great if you have a radio with a set of smoked finals but if your looking for more power buy a small amp you will get more bang for your buck. 73

External amp is a better option as hilltop mentioned. Not only more bang for the buck but you can use and external amp with a different radio. If you sell your radio with the RFX-75 thingy you have no amp.

Yeah, i talked to another guy about it earlier today. He told me they run very hot, reminds me of the old stinger rigs you put in place of your speaker. I have what i call a baby driver any how i use a mod v. Like you said it can be changed out from radio to radio.

i installed one on my uniden 68 for mobile use. i get 75-80 watts. the modulation is super clean, really powerful radio. ive talked with it as a base a little, very strong with great reports. for a home base, might be better to get an external amp. but if u just want a mobile that'll get out locally, u cant beat it. its cheap, simple and just plain works. i just use mine when im mobile to talk around the state here, dont try to DX as i use a 3 foot magnet mount antenna.
as far as getting hot, they can warm up, a simple computer fan on the back of them works wonders. i dont run the computer fan all the time just when im talking a good bit.
id say if ur just looking for a radio to punch locally, u cant beat it for mobile use for the money.... its a matter of what ur looking for really. but they do what they say they'll do.
