president Jackson low tx power output

#338134

Post by hijacker »

Hello All
I have a President Jackson silver face radio, The rf output is only 1/2 of a watt maximum. I have removed and tested the final, the driver and the pre driver. All tested good on my transistor tester. I can not adjust the power output any higher that 1/2 watt. The radio receives very well. I am hoping that you might help me to troubleshoot my problem. Thank you for reading this post, I hope to hear from you about what I should check next, 73 for now.

I have changed All the 10 volt caps with 25 volt caps, changed the decoupling caps with no change in the problem, still only one half watt output. can not adjust it any higher.

My radio and schematics are 45 miles from me. I can give you the exact one I had to change to get mine going when I get home.

Did you change C189 when you recapped the radio?
