Question about meter operation DX-959
Just received my radio back from the shop after I had a problem with SSB RX causing my meter to peg with a no-sound condition during RX and now I've noticed that, when on SSB and the meter is switched to read mod%, the needle doesn't move. It works correctly for SWR as well as output power and also works properly on AM but the meter will not read mod% when on SSB.
I never noticed it before I sent it in so I was wondering if indeed it is even supposed to read mod% on SSB at all?

you read with the meter set for power when operating on SSB. If the needle fluctuates then it is modulating. That's how my Galaxy works.

On sideband carrier is suppressed, therefore no modulation. When switch is set to modulation position durring ssb transmission, meter should remain flat.

Well, I probably should have just read the manual...
When the switch is in the "MOD" position, the green scale
on the meter indicates your percentage of modulation. This operates in
AM only, not in SSB. When this switch is in "PWR" position, the meter
indicates your power output.
Doh!

Oh no big deal. I do that myself all too often! Easy to do when when you're fired up to use something. Peace bro.
