HR2510 issues
Hello gents-lately my old faithful 2510 has started to drift off freq. when on ssb and requires the occasional touch up of the clarifier, even after she warms up.
Also i noticed that the dead key will fluctuate anywhere from 1-3 watts. Is it time for a recap or are the finals/driver just getting old.
Robert

here is a sight that has about all the info on this radio. I do not think the final or driver would cause it to drift. see if he has any info on his sight.

Hi Robert,
Place a current meter in-line when using the radio. This can tell you a lot about what is happening with the radio. I would check for a bad solder connection. If it drifts on both Tx and Rx, then the problem is in the VCO/PLL circuit. A good frequency counter would help a lot.

Respectfully as always,
Rick

I heard the same thing. The caps could prob use a refresh. That is easy and cheap to do.
