RCI 2970 orange display HOW TO CENTER clarifier ?
I have a nice RCI 2970. The original one. Works great. Only thing that drives me a little nuts is say I am on 27.405 lsb. My frequency display will read 27.405.0 and the people on the other end here me dead center. But on my receive end I need to put my clarifier at about 8 oclock to here the people. Not sure if this is normal or if there is a pot inside to adjust and center the receive clarifier. Anybody have one of these radio that can give me a little help?
Thanks
Thanks

If you are transmitting with clarifier at 8 O'clock and they hear you on freq. sounds like your radio could use a alignment. Here is info on how to do it.

It could be the station you are receiving is off. A good alignment would not hurt just prove that you are on frequency. If you are capable of doing it yourself here are the alignment specs;

you need a good freq counter, with a tone gen... or you can do it by ear if you have another radio that you know is on for sure.. ive used both methods and done good with both..
there are 3 pots on the board near the front which ppl have posted the specs.. those are very sensitive, so turn slow.
set your clarifier for 12'oclock. then adjust.. but beware, you can severely throw your radio off

Also make sure before you perform the alignment, to let it warm up for about 10 min. Just to be on the safe side. I would advise finding a station that is on freq for sure! Not likely gonna be a Galaxy cb. Someone with a Ham rig could likely help you best. Good luck.

an external freq counter will tell you what freq you are actually on
