cobra 2000 gtl audio in

I bought a cobra 2000 gtl and am having issues with audio in. I have to put my ear to speaker to hear anything with volume turned all the way up. Transmit works great and is in great shape, hope someone can help.

If AM TX audio is ok then the audio ic is good look toward the volume control or speaker out jack or speaker it self. Try Pluging speaker in PA and turn Switch to PA RX audio should come through let us know if that's ok.

try a different speaker...any cb external speaker will work with that radio...doesn't have to be the ones that came with it.

Check the speaker jacks, had a local ask me to look at a radio he just bought, no sound but transmitted, opened the case and found that someone broke off a plug in the speaker jack, just the tip, was a enough to keep the internal speaker from working and plugging a external speaker in.

im assuming you only have one speaker, if your plugged into speaker 1 "in the back of radio" change it to speaker 2, flip switch on front panel accordingly.

* dont use the jack in the front marked "aux" thats a line out for recording.
