Can somebody help me??

My husband has a Galaxy DX 93T CB with a built in linear. I bought him a Texas Star DX 350HDV to use with it. We've been told by two different people that if you run the Texas Star linear with that CB it will burn it up. Does anyone have any info. on that? Thanks for the help!

BEST advice I can give you on that is to take the radio AND amp to a CB shop and ask them if they are compatable with each other. Depending on the amp, the internal amp in the radio "might" function as a driver for it. Otherwise they might be able to put a switch in the radio to turn off the power for the internal amp so the radio will operate with the Texas Star amp.

if he really wants to use that combination.. have the dead key on the radio set no higher than 1 or 2 watts and change out the variable pot on the texas star 350 to a heavier 5 watt 250 ohm one and put a small fan
on the texas star 350 and he should be fine..

the 93t only has one 2290 in it. i set up my friends texas star 350 in this manner and he has driven it with a 2 pill 2290 modulator so far for about 4 years and no problems so far... hope this input helps. 73`s
