Post by p38 »

After my first failed post on this beam I've been reaserching like crazy. The two beams that are the closest are the hy-gain th3 and radio shack crossbow 3 . Soo I call on the knowledge gods of this forum for guidance I've drawn up the beam I remember disassembling very little is known about it since my great god father passed away.

I have never seen a beam that has a gamma on both sides of the driven element, normally it is just the top. The HyGain and Archer antennas are both made by HyGain. On the HyGain beam the element themselves are loaded, (center of coax to the top, shield to the bottom element), and are insulated from the boom. Back in the day there were quite a few manufacturers, you might try looking through the antenna manuals on CB Tricks and see if you can match it up to one.

It is possible the gamma matcher went across the middle I've gotta find some old family pictures maybe it was in one.

That 'double gamma match' is called a delta math. It can be made in several different chapes, the way pictured is just one of them.

It is possible they were mounted to the boom and used to match the impedance like a hairpin matcher, now I have seen them like that, I think it was an Antenna Specialist brand.

Its an old rasio shack aracher crossbow 3 (made by huslter?) Now that you all guided me too it where can I find the specs on it ? The elements slide into the boom and are held by a bolt/screw the end pipes on the elements are held in by screws as well . I have three elements here and two pieces for the ends gotta dig up the rest but the boom is missing.
