They do wi544 and I have the 5inch shaft that came with the 1000 but was hoping to get away from having to use it, kinda hoping this setup would work, but with a different mounting stud than the one on there at the moment.

I don't think it will work that way,, you will be changing the physical length of the antenna

Thank you wi544 for the replies, so i would be best to add the 5inch shaft, or maybe a shorter one if I could find it maybe.
The Wilson X000 series are center load antennas and require the lower shaft removing it changes the resonance. I look at it as a great excuse to buy That Shiny New Pick-Up that's been calling your name on the daily commute. "But... But Honey I needed it to get my antenna to work properly honest **Censored**! See how nice it looks on that pretty diamond plate tool box mount". Now realize you may find your self sleeping in the 8' ft bed that never needs to be made, but you will at least have all your friends to talk to and who knows you might even find a Good Buddie for the cold nights as winter is approaching soon.

You will need to increase the length of the upper whip to compensate for the lower shaft. You will also have a capacitance problem because to the distance the antenna is off the roof, I have seen that when using a light bar for the antenna.

yep I agree with ya silvereagle1, but at this time I'm trying to use what I have on hand, besides if I was to go by a new antenna right now, momma would have me sleeping with the dogs.

Have you ever heard the phrase "it's better to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission" you will eventually be forgiven but you'll never get permission.cerberus wrote:yep I agree with ya silvereagle1, but at this time I'm trying to use what I have on hand, besides if I was to go by a new antenna right now, momma would have me sleeping with the dogs.

I have heard of that. But the idea of sleeping with the dogs until I'm forgiven just doesnt set right with me, besides there farts stink worse than mine.
