I have used a maco 5/8 for years and it works good as a ground plane antenna.

It's a good antenna. I used a v5000 for a couple of years and a few locals have had the v58 up for years. Most 5/8 ground planes perform about the same. Take your time tuning it and use some coax seal around the wire going to the ring all the way back to the so239 to keep water from leaking through the connector and in to the coax.

I am a metal antenna person and 21ft isn't a bad height. Like 543 said, double check the measurements and seal the coax well. If you don't have a manual you can find one on CB Tricks.

cbtricks never did put them back up from being asked to pull them while they updated all the info on the maco antennas. you can go to maco's web site to get it. if they do not have it I have a copy I can post for you if needed.. I have had to repair mine a few times due to ice storms here so I have the manual saved to repair it when needed.

here is the link to the antenna incase you do not have it.

Your right, forgot that when Mosley bought the antenna patent they made them remove it from their list.
Sorry.
