General Lee Coming

#51589

Post by shogun »

I am getting the patrol car tomorrow, and I should be getting the General Lee here in the next few weeks. I spoke with Mike at Radioactive on the phone, and he was very informative and a nice, all around good guy. Hopefully, I will be getting a Davemade or EastCoast 1x4 soon afterwards and go duck hunting. I just hope the wait doesnt kill me.

You're gonna like it! I've been talking on my General Lee a good bit today and am getting nothing but great feedback. I even had one guy tell me that I sounded "choice" and that I sounded like a rolling base station.

This was a good one to read. Today I took the plunge and ordered the LEE and a MM.
Like a kid in a candy store. Wish I had it now!

Thats Awesome. If I were you I'd get a East Coast 1X4 to run it into. That would work pretty well. Then I'd give away the Texas Star Radio since you won't need it anymore.

Well, I dont know about giving the texas star radio away, it was a gift. But I might be willing to let someone borrow it since I wont be needing it. By the way, the patrol car has a 200 amp alternator (awesome!!!!) I might just have to get a 2x4 amp instead.

I just went for it. I got coax and the whole nine yards. If all that has been said about this set-up is on the up. I will have the best radio I have ever had.

Does your General have a side kick? Or does he do battle alone?

I've been running my SWP General Lee for a year now, and it is still impressing me. If I would have done it before the other sucker radios I tried, it would have saved me a bundle of $$$$, and much frustration, but I guess I wouldn't appreciate it as much either.

I am mad at Radioactive. Just Kidding. If Mike at Radioactive didnt have such excellent customer service and sell so many radios, I wouldnt have to wait for my SWP General Lee. However, good things do come to those who wait. And when it gets here, duck season is open all year long.

The time waiting has been good for me, even though I really want my station today.
It has given me time to really think about the install. SWR, new coax, moved antenna away from the front corner of the bed to the rear.
For the first time, I feel I will have the YOU MUST HEAR ME radio on the local channels here.
So if you are waiting on a radio you need to make sure everything is PERFECT as there is no just OK. If you want the radio to do what you paid for, need to make sure the antenna and correct power are doing there part.
Where was I going with this...........not sure. Guess I just need to get in some forum time, as when the radio gets here, it will be talk time!

Well, I have to run a wilson 1000 trunk mount antenna because it looks like a police type antenna much more so than a predator 10k would. Plus, I think this antenna would be better since I dont have to drill into the trunk at all, and it will withstand speeds of 130 mph for when I need to get somewhere or catch someone. This Friday makes two weeks, so hopefully by next friday I will have it and start talking some. I have never been so excited about a radio in my life, and I have owned Rangers, Galaxys, and Texas Stars.

By the way I was at a cb shop the other day, and a tech said that General Lee's werent that great, but Connex was. What a moron.
