My First SWR Set up.

I just want to run this by you guys to see if I did this right. This was my first time I truly set my antennas to fix my SWR's right. Everything went well and my SWR's came down great....now the last 2 times I snipped a 1/4 inch off the antenna it read like this...

ch 1= 1
ch 40= 1.4

ch 19= 1.1

Then, I snipped just an 1/8 or so off, and ch 1 when UP .50, not 1.1 just 1 and a little...
The rest stayed the same.
I STOPPED right there because it went up a little. Is that right? or should I try for a Little more? (I'm not running a amp.)

I'm running RA's SWP Gen. Lee with their coax (18') and one Wilson trucker 2000 antenna on a Kenworth truck.

Just so we know what you mean ... you now have 1.5 on ch 1, 1.1 on ch 19, and 1.4 on ch 40 ??? If so, I would double check that again. Ch 1 shouldn't jump that much with 1/8' adjustment.

If your whip is bottomed out in the base, then you have plenty to work with still. You can always try to snip a little more off and see what happens.

i WOULD TRIM ABOUT ANOTHER 1/8 OR A 1/4 OFF IF ITS TO MUCH YOU CAN ALWAYS RAISE
IT UP IN THE STINGER HOLDER AND SEE BUT IF ITS HIGHER ON 40 THAN 1 YOU NEED TO SHORTEN
YOUR STINGER IT WONT HURT NUTHIN LIKE I SAID JUST RAISE IT UP IN THE SHAFT IF ITS TO MUCH

ch 1 was at one, ch 19 was at 1.1 and ch 40 was at 1.4.

I was just trying to take my time and snip a little at a time and I got to a point that ch one came "up" a very little so I thought that was my sign to stop. The rest stayed the same.

I ended up with...

CH 1 Was 1.05 (just under 1.1)
CH 19 Was 1.1
CH 40 Was 1.4 ?
I am bottoming out the wip in the base. If I lift it a little will it change?
I think I'm making sense????? I hope. lol

Oh .. ok. Yes, you have about 1" of play up and down in the stinger holder as DC says. It's good to be cautious and go a little at a time, but it sounds like you should try snipping a little more off. You wanna get ch 40 down below 1.3, even if ch 1 goes up a little.

Yepper and it may come up to say 1.2 and end up being flat 1.2 threw the band but if
your guna be talkin on 19 most of the time you can raise up the stinger abit till it gets
back to 1.1 not that 1.2 is bad but 1.1 is better
