Someone told me LMR 400 coax would be the best way to go because it can handle 1000 watts or more and the cable is small like the mini 8 and would be easier to install in my big truck than RG 8...Feed back please....Thanks

They told you wrong... It can handle the watts but it is not small like Mini 8... RG213 is a good coax, but it is also large...

Depending what size box you are going to run, mini 8 might be fine... What are you looking to install?

If you want a smaller coax, but something that's a little better than RG mini-8. Then check out LMR 240 coax.

It's about the same size as mini-8, and is a higher quality, and can handle well over 1000w's. It has better shielding than mini-8, and is a more efficient coax.

Only draw-back, is putting the connectors on this stuff. The center conductor wire's foam insulation has a thin tin shield glued on it, that has to be scraped off first, to keep from creating a ground short when your putting on the antenna connectors...This can be easier said than done...

Im looking at a Davemade 2x4 and it would be great if I could stay with the mini 8...It would be alot easier to replace when needed...Think that is possible and not loose performance?

you should have no problem using mini 8 with a 2x4..
especially with a short run like a mobile install..

I sure don't need any more "easier said than done" problems...Can I not get this kind of cable with ends already on it? Or would it be in my best interest to try to learn to put the ends on myself ?

Looking at around $10 per connector to have them installed on the cable... 305-899-0900... Speak to Danny, call after noon cause he kinda rolls in late... Mini 8 will do the job like T2W said...

You can order it with the ends already installed. But it's Pricey!
I agree with everyone else too, for a 2x4, mini-8 is fine. You wouldn't be able to tell any difference between the two.
