Loss is present in any transmission medium. Ideally you would like to have as little loss as possible. The thing to remember is that in a mobile situation, the run of coax is short, and loss will be very little with most any transmission line.

The next consideration is power handling capability. I noticed in some of your posts that you are considering a 2 driving 4 amplifier. The minimum coax I would run would be RG-8X.

As far as length is concerned, if you are running a single adjustable antenna, any length of coax will work well.
