you asked, but you need a power supply, you dont have enough power going to those amps and those batts inside are DANGEROUS, major fire hazard, if you dont have enough power to the amps you will fry them, quickly, just my .02

Well, you have several great pieces in line. This is your "late night" setup yet I see the low pass filter over there in the background unhooked, and don't think that because it is late that you won't talk over stuff. The stuff doesn't have to be on for interference to happen. Let's hope they are deep sleepers. There are no fans on anything, you mention an antron and I think in another thread you mention an Imax. You mentioned a new face plate yet recently you showed that radio and it was very clean, what's up with that? As mentioned, the power supply situation is just a recipe for a soon to happen bad situation. I'm telling you all of this because I've been there, only I wasn't putting that much good equipment in danger. Button that stuff up, sell off that sixteen and get a better AC powered amp, or whatever you need to do, but what you have going is unfused, unsafe, and uncool. We're all behind you here but it looks like you're still pushing it to the edge, on both the interference side and the safety part. Come on now, I KNOW that if you can hook up what is there then you know what needs to be done to run a clean setup. Do you smell those batteries? I almost can and I'm not in the room.

Hi audio boy

I like the 73v. You will not find many of those radios out there. The voice changer is fun. I come across one about every 2 years on average. That number gets lower each year. Hold on to that radio.

Hi audio boy

Do not modify that radio in any way. Its value is in the fact that you will not see that many left; especially in the USA. The voice changer is a fun feature and is only found stock on the 99V SSB and the 73V AM.

Once you modify it the value as an original is gone. If it ain't broke don't fix it. :icon_e_smile:

I am no fan of Mosfets as power devices. Unfortunately, all CB radios will come with Mosfets in the future because the cost is lower than a Bi-polar transistor.

Please leave the radio alone and butcher a Cobra 29 LTD if you must.
