lol, thought i'd watch 4040's gate, and i just found out i made no contact

got squished by a seattle guy

I've been chasing that one for a while. Seems like everyone is always competing to get heard by him.

I heard him from Texas on Saturday and Im sitting here reading this like holy **Censored** I heard him too lol

yea, i was just sitting here, noticed 38 was jumping on my uniden bc898t, so i tuned my cb to that channel and heard 4040 on the air.

i shouted out for him, but a guy just north of me, mightve been 1188 seattle, squished me.

Check out my YouTube channel, Mr314snowman, I've made many contacts with ol 4040. You can do it boys, keep trying!

Why not? When you hear people on the radio all the time its fun to say hello & try to make it to them, especially when you know them from DX’n. Plus he makes a lot of videogates / watergates & puts them on youtube so you get to hear what your radio sounds like on his end & what kind of signal your putting in his meter. Some people like to hear there radios, some don’t give a crap I guess, I have fun trying when I can, at least wave a hand to him since I know who he just by hearing him (which many do). If I heard you in DX land fairly often when the conditions were good I would do the same when I heard you out there. I also enjoy rolling gates when I can too, I rarely do it right now, but when I get my setup done I will do it more myself as well. Its all in good fun, you know?

I do not know him personally, just quick contacts on the radio, but 4040 seems like a good dude & has lots of fun on his radio like the rest of us, I am glad to see him have as much fun as he does. It’s a hobby to a lot of us & all about having a good fun time on the radio; as long as I can understand what there saying, I’ll talk to whoever I can in DX land, that’s what it’s all about. Its all radio fun!!!!!!!

4040 is a great contact to make! There are several folks out there that we should all take pride in making a solid DX contact with. I know I still get pumped up when I make contact with several of the Big Stations even though I have met most of them personally. Its just clean fun!

I hope that some day people get excited to make a contact with me! How cool would that be, to be a CB Idol of sorts. I know I keep a secret list of Big Stations I would LOVE to make solid contact with still. Like Snowman says, "keep trying"! Thats all I do. 73

Haven't heard 4040 yet ..but The Mod Squad came in at 2AM on the bowl one morning. !

Thought it was a historical event ! ..but then in looking at his YouTube channel ..I saw that he gated Barbados many times :p
