Which fuse blew? The one going into the radio, or the fuse on the house side?

Hello optimusprime,
Welcome to the forum. If it is the radios fuse you are talking about it is mostly likely the radio was wired up backwards and the diode inside is shorted causing the fuse to blow. Now if you are talking about the house circuit breaker when using a power supply than you have bigger problems.

that radio pulls about 6amp, it should have came with a 7 to 10 amp fuse in it. if it has been peaked it will need a 10 amp for sure.

Hey buddy, welcome to the CB world and the forum... No. 1, make sure the inline fuse is a 10 amp fuse... No. 2, if the fuse continues to blow, the is a protection diode (1n4004 most likely) on the board designed to blow when the radio is plugged in backwards, makes the fuse blow instead of the radio. It will be located near the power plug, swap it or have someone do it for you... or you can clip the diode and the radio will work, but make sure you dont plug it in backwards cause with out that diode in place, you could do permanent damage to the radio, hope this helps.
