tell him your gonna keep it :compress:

do some listening on 10 meters "28.300 - 28.500" when dx is running, youll be amazed at the stations you hear.

then get your tech ticket and get to transmitting there 8)

If you need a push in that direction don't hesitate to pm me, I'm happy to help :ugeek:

Yeah hes a commercial fisherman so he has a lot of hams and imports around. I'm lucky that my inlaws really love me. Its nice having a "mom and dad" here while mine are living in Cali.

Ive already set it to scan from 26 to 28Kh. Its a bummer that the swr is 5:1 at the ends of the spectrum.

Sorry, not a ham. I intended to take whatever test they would allow me. I would like to be licensed for all or most bands.

i hear ya, well pick up studying again, you have to take em in order tech/general/extra, it is possible to pass all 3 in one sitting for 1 fee, i went to get my tech, passed that and took the general right there, however i was not prepared for the general but tried anyways since it cost me nothing to at least try, i failed the general but walked out with my technician, i am now prepared to retake my general with confidence.
