It should work fine with a 4 pill. The 4 pill and a radio might be too much but the amp alone will be fine. They recommend it for the als500 amplifier which uses four 2sc2879 transistors.

The Ameritron SPS-75MV and MFJ-4275MV are one and the same, slight difference in price. It is recommended for the Ameritron amp like 543 said but remember that amp is biased for SSB which doesn't have the spikes in amperage needed by a class C 4 pill amp. It will work but might need a little more amperage to run it on "High".

If 2 amps have similar designs the biased amplifier will draw more current at the same output than class C amp. What kind of 4 pill and how hard do you plan on running it?

I had an Ameritron SPS-75MV and a Texas Star 667V, normally I'll just run at half way (SSB), it did work okay until I turned the variable all the way up then it seemed to struggle for amperage, that was a couple years ago and both have gone out the door.
