Auto SSB

Sometimes I read "Auto SSB" or "Auto SSB switch" related to amplifiers.
I would consider it means the delay?
I never came in contact with this term in europe, so i would like to ask what does it do and if its worth how to build this?

Regards

The "Automatic SSB" is nothing more than a cap on the TX/RX relay delaying the time switches from TX to RX, all the amp manufacturer did was eliminate the switch and the delay is there all the time.

Most CB amps have B+ to one side of the relay coil when the amp is turned on and the RF sniffer keying circuit grounds the other side of the coil when you key the radio. I know you know this but threw it in for anyone that doesn't. Most delays are just an electrolytic cap from the negative side of the coil to board ground so the amp stays keyed between words on SSB. Something around a 1000uf is usually used but keep in mind the cap has to charge before the amp keys. If you use too big of a cap the amp will be slow to key. The better way to go with larger amplifiers is to use a foot switch or a sequencer so the amplifier will key before the radio and unkey after the radio. This keeps the relay from arcing when you key and unkey.

Thanks.
And i was in hope there would be some 'magic circuit' i simply dont know...

Hmm... To ensure fast switching i will not just add a Capacitor.
My noise reducing circuit* now includes a PTT-contact, but my plan is to make it all-purpose ready.
I feel like fail but there are some ideas in my head i have to try now.

*= Some kind of "QRM-Eleminator" or the "MFJ 1026"
